Japanese electronics manufacturer Matsushita Electric Industrial Co will have to replace batteries in Nokia phones, some 86-172 million dollars.
Earlier this month, Nokia warned that 46 million batteries "BL-5C, Matsushita made from December 2005 to November 2006, may overheat, and offered to replace them free of charge.
In accordance with the agreement reached between the companies, Matsushita Battery producing cells under the well-known brand name Panasonic, will cover the direct costs of a replacement.
Matsushita said that no plans to revise its forecast profit.
